Project India is one of the locations for our Overseas Hospital Work Experience which offers students a premium learning experience. This course is designed to give students aged 16-19 a realistic and in-depth insight into life as a Doctor. For full information about our course please see below.
Hospital Work Experience
25 hours hospital work experience per week

UK Hospital Work Experience
Students on this placement will gain the opportunity shadow doctors and consultants at our partner hospital, a semi-modern 400 bed hospital, based in Pune, India. There are 18 departments in total. Students can spend time in the following departments: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Maternity Ward, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Oncology, Intensive Care, Orthopaedics, Radiology, ENT, Tropical Diseases.
During this course, students will develop skills and techniques through access to an online UKCAT course and online interview preparation course that are designed to boost university applications and help students differentiate themselves from other applicants.

Students are supervised 24/7 by our full time UK staff. All students stay at our accommodation in Pune base which is located at the hospital and share same gender rooms. Our pre-departure service means our Student Co-ordinators are on-hand to answer all your questions and make sure you fully prepared for the course.
Students can complete from 1 - 4 weeks on the overseas hospital based work experience course. The course is residential so all students join and stay with the Medical Projects team and fellow students.

Facilities: There are over 30 different sports activities based on-site at Project India. Evening and weekends are filled with sports events, competitions and general fun!
Food and Drink: Breakfast and dinner are included each day. Breakfast is a a continental style breakfast with toast, cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts. Dinner varies each day and is a mixture of British and international dishes. Students with specific dietry requirements will need to let us know before you join us.
Where you'll stay
The accommodation at Project India is on the hospital campus, less than a minutes walk from the hospital. The hospital grounds have 24/7 security to ensure student safety. Students will typically share rooms between 2 or 3 and all rooms have en-suites with showers and western toilets. There are also social areas where the students can gather during the evenings and weekends, this is usually where you will find a member of staff with quizzes, competitions and sports events!
We are keen to ensure students experience the culture and sites of India! Each weekend we offer students the chance to join our weekend trip. This involves an overnight stay in a luxury resort tucked away in the hills over looking the Vashishti River. Students take part in two days of activities that combine learning about the local Indian culture, exploring this amazing area of India and relaxing after a week of learning! Here's what is included in the weekend trip:
- Guided tour of the local Parsharum Temple
- Riverboat trip on Vashishti River
- Trek up to Sunset Point to see the amazing sunset over the Vashishti River
- Evening meal overlooking the Vashishti river
- Overnight stay in the Riverview Resort
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner (veg & non-veg meals)
- Use of swimming pool and onsite facilities
